How the Flex Logger Works

Learn the basic way the new and improved EXACT Flex Logger works to reliably transmit your data.

Features That Set Us Apart

Rechargeable Battery

The Flex Logger is easy to recharge, with a battery life of up to 4 months in LTE mode and over 3 years in LoRa mode before requiring a recharge.

No Relay Required

The Flex Logger can transmit data directly via LTE-M using its built-in cellular modem. For applications with limited cellular coverage (e.g., Precast), it can also be paired with a Relay.

Bluetooth Option

Data can also be extracted from the Flex Logger via Bluetooth, making it ideal for applications where cellular coverage is unavailable, such as underground tunnels.

GPS

Can’t locate your Flex Logger? No problem. With a strong GPS signal, the device automatically reports its location once per day.

90 Days Memory

If the logger is unable to transmit data in real time, it will store the collected readings in its memory. The Flex Logger can hold up to 90 days of data at 15-minute intervals.

The Basics

There is no ON/OFF switch.

The Flex Logger is always ON.

NORMAL

INTERVAL MODE

Loggers enter this mode once a probe is connected.

They transmit every 15 minutes while in this mode

POWER SAVING

PROBE MODE

Loggers enter this mode if
no probes are connected.

They transmit every 6 hours

while in this mode.

How Data is Logged & Transmitted

The Logger takes measurements from all connected probes + ambient.

It will always measure an ambient reading even if no probes are connected.

LTE Logger

LTE Loggers directly transmit the measured temperature/humidity readings to the EXACT Cloud through LTE-M.

LoRa Logger

LoRa Loggers transmit the  temperature/humidity readings to the nearest Relay, which then transmits it to the EXACT Cloud.

If the Logger can’t transmit the data in real-time, it will store the measured readings in its memory.

On the next transmission window, it will transmit the new readings alongside any saved ones in the memory.

More on Offline Data

Flex Loggers can store up to 90 days worth of readings, and reclaim all of it once a connection with the cloud is established.

You can also extract this data from the Flex Logger using Bluetooth. Read more about that in this article
